Captain George “Cap” Leonard, NAMS-CMS
Captain Leonard is a 1960 graduate of Maine Maritime Academy
and was certified by the USCG as a hull inspector in 1962. Captain
Leonard was a founding partner of Associated Marine Surveyors
and is certified by the National Association of Marine Surveyors
as an expert in commercial craft, fishing vessels, yachts, small
craft and hull and machinery.
Captain Kevin Harris, NAMS-CMS
Captain
Harris has been a senior staff surveyor with Associated Marine
Surveyors for over 20 years. Captain Harris is certified by the
National Association of Marine Surveyors as an expert surveyor
for yachts and small craft, commercial craft, marina facilities,
hull and machinery and salvage (hulls). Captain Harris has extensive
offshore experience and is the proud owner of the Hinckley “Pilot”
hull number 1 “Huntress”.

Charles Cook NAMS-Associate/SAMS-Associate
Captain Cook joined Associated Marine Surveyors as a staff surveyor
in 1999. He is a 1981 graduate of “The Boat School” in Eastport
Maine. Captain Cook has long been a member of the Maine marine
community with specialties in vessel construction, naval architecture,
Navigation, marine electronics and rigging. Captain Cook purchased
“Maine Compass Service” in 1988 and continues to be the recognized
compass authority in northern New England.

Christopher Lawton
Captain
Lawton joined Associated Marine Surveyors in 2003. He was born
and raised on the coast of Maine where the love of boats and the
water was instilled in him at an early age. Chris started his
marine career at a local shipyard in Maine, honing his technical
skills as well as learning both traditional and modern methods
of vessel repair and construction. Captain Lawton brings over
10 years of large yacht experience to Associated Marine Surveyors.
He has been an integral part of two large yacht construction project
management teams successfully launching yachts of 155' and 188'
in length. Captain Lawton has cruised the oceans of the world
and has made four transatlantic crossings. He holds USCG 200 ton
Master and 1600 ton mate licenses along with Radar, Arpa, Gmdss
and Any Oceans endorsements.

Tony Theriault NAMS-Associate
Captain Theriault, a 1980 graduate
of Maine Maritime Academy, is a USCG Licensed Master 1600 Gross
Tons, Any Ocean. He brings over 20 years of marine experience
to the staff of Associated Marine Surveyors. Captain Theriault
is certified to conduct ISM Safety Audits upon vessels operating
under the flags of the Cayman Islands, Marshall Islands and St.
Vincent.
Donald
D. Wakeman
Don
Wakeman joined the firm in the Spring of 2005. He has a strong
background in all aspects of boat building and engineering. As
assistant Cheif Inspector at Sparkman and Stephens, he traveled
world wide to oversee the construction of S & S designed yachts.
As an accomplished sailor, he served as crewmember on the America's
Cup defender Constellation, and as project engineer on Intrepid.
He also served as a Corinthian crewmember on the racing yacht
Ondine. As a boat builder, he has had manufacturing responsibilities
for all phases of construction at Boston Whaler, Wellcraft and
Donzi Marine.
